Matthew Corey captured about 54% of the vote to Gerry Smith's 46% on Tuesday, earning the Glastonbury Republican a second chance at unseating Democratic US Sen. Chris Murphy. Voter turnout in the Republican primary was 7.27% overall versus 17.93% for the Democrats, although the Democrats did not have a statewide primary.
